Jack Sharkey's brilliantly funny play is a skilful pastiche of all the old black and white horror films produced in the forties and fifties. In keeping with the old time terrors, the plot is as follows...

We open on a typical Transylvanian summers day. It is raining. There is the sound of distant thunder but don't worry, the storm is on the move. As with all good plots, it is Friday 13th and, as is usual in your Transylvanian village, people are disappearing in strange circumstances - leaving some even stranger people behind.

Characters such as Donald von Blitzen, a mild-mannered mad scientist, living quietly in his mountain-top castle, going about his daily business. if only people knew exactly what that was! With him is Mord, his little helper, there to assist him with all the fetching and carrying, not to mention the burying and digging up.

All seems to be running smoothly in Von Blitzen's world. After all, his wife hasn't sung for months. Then disaster strikes! His daughter Daisy returns unexpectedly, just in time to disrupt the most vital moments in his latest and greatest experiment...

And worse - she's not alone. Two school friends are with her, Babsy Ballou and Frank Sterling, brave enough a young hero to want to make Daisy his own. His own 'what', you'll have to wait to find out.

All will be revealed in the last reel, including the screams in the night (and the day come to think of it), the loud clanking chains and why newly engaged couples face heartbreak - but two others find true love!
